Dr Joanna Hikaka
Ngāruahine
Pharmacist and Health Researcher, Waitematā DHB, NZ

​Jo Hikaka (Ngāruahine) is a pharmacist and health researcher living and working in Waitematā DHB. She has experience in older adult health, Māori health and health services research and has worked as a pharmacist across primary, secondary and Aged Residential Care settings. Jo is currently a research fellow in the Dept of General Practice and Primary Health Care at the University of Auckland. Her current research focuses on equitable medicines access for Māori, iwi-driven injury prevention and rehabilitation for older Māori, and Māori access to ARC. 

​Medicines Use in Older Māori and Equity of Access to Aged Care Services
 
In this presentation, Joanna will discuss her pathway to into research which focuses on older Māori and equitable health care access and outcomes. This includes medicines and pharmacists services; injury prevention and rehabilitation; aged residential care.
